I have been making this smoothie for years now - tweaking it here and there as I have tried to perfect it.  In it's latest form - this is a delicious combination of kefir, kale, frozen strawberry, orange juice and a banana. This is a fulfilling and a refreshing drink full of probiotics that can help with digestion and mood. It can be used to tame late afternoon cravings or can take the place of a post workout nutrition bar or used as a quick breakfast filler. Whichever way you want to use it - it is sure to complement your activity. Plus, you will find it to be both tasty and healthy. 

Here is the recipe   

  • One banana 

  • 2 cups of Kefir 

  • 1 cup of frozen strawberries 

  • 1 cups of kale 

  • 2 cups of orange juice (add more or less to change consistency) 

Put all the ingredients in a powerful blender and mix. I use a Vitamix blender, which is really good at blending things such as kale so that your smoothie does not taste grainy. But feel free to experiment with other blenders, and let me know how it goes. Also feel free to change some of the ingredient depending on what you have in your fridge!
